Victory at ITS

Unite the union has today (Wednesday, 5 September) suspended the industrial action at Capita ITS after the company confirmed it was "standing down" its 2013 offshoring and job loss programme.

Action was planned at the Capita sites in Reading, Craigforth, Birmingham and Bournemouth. The action will no longer take place following discussions between Capita and Unite which resulted in an agreement to abandon offshoring plans and job losses. Capita has also committed to conclude negotiations on a new job security framework for its workforce by the end of September.
David Fleming, Unite national officer, said: “Unite is delighted that our members determination to defend their job security and oppose the offshoring plans has prompted a rethink by Capita.

“The union will now work hard with Capita on reaching a new agreement with Capita that delivers stronger job security for the workforce.”
