Unite met with
company representatives recently to discuss the results of the pay
ballot with a view to returning to the negotiating table.
Capita
Life and Pensions made it clear at that stage that they were unable to
improve the offer. We discussed the feedback we had received from
members with regards how the offer could be improved, but Capita are not
able to implement any of these suggestions at this time. This is
despite another year which has seen Capita Group profits increase, this
year by 10%, along with shareholder dividends.
Since then the Company have announced a move to implement the intitial pay offer.
Based on this, your
Workplace Reps have reached a decision that Unite should now move to a
consultative ballot for industrial action.
Members will be
balloted on whether they are prepared to take industrial to get the
company to reopen negotiations. Discussions are ongoing as to what type
of action this could take. It could include such action as working
normal contracted hours according to your normal weekly work pattern,
excluding overtime, extra shift working, weekend working or strike
action. Members’ views will be sought as part of these discussions.
Unite are asking members to vote YES to this question. The consultative ballot will open today on Monday 20th May and close on Friday 31st May.
If you're aware of any union member who hasn't received this e-mail, please let us know at .box amicus glasgow.
Also, if you've
changed your address recently and not let the union know, please inform
us at .box amicus glasgow, as the subsequent ballot on industrial action
is sent to home addresses.
